no. it's probably a lot quieter now, but that can be a good and bad thing.

can you still visit her?

sure. and maybe i will. but that's not quite the same

i've been thinking about getting a dog.

no, it's not. i'm honestly surprised you ended up going through with giving her away.

i've never had a pet. but i knew someone with canine dna.

i wanted her to live her best goat life. that was not with me. i found her a cute pair of kids, they're in love with her already. and i made them sign a contract.

( he's a satanist. he's good with contracts. )

i haven't either. of all the animals to pick, dog seems like a weird one, but i guess that's why i'm not a mad geneticist.

that's fair, an apartment isn't the most practical place to raise a growing goat. i'm glad you found her a place she'll thrive. and hopefully develop a taste for things that aren't hair or shoes.

they did it for the genetic benefits - enhanced vision, agility, ability to withstand extreme temperatures, things like that. they didn't end up sticking with canine for later trials but all of us have some kind of animal dna thrown in. i've got feline. maybe some shark.

sure but dogs don't have the best eyesight, usually they're more noted for their olfactory skills. and i really don't want to think about a superhuman that smells things especially good.

cat sort of makes sense, with the independence and everything. can't say i've noticed the shark.

if you're part cat, does that mean you're against dogs?

i don't know about especially, but my senses in general are stronger.

no. sometimes they're wary of me. my friend noticed it right away and was a little cagey, but that might have been more from being trapped in a basement for years.

as long as you're not hearing my heartbeat or smelling what i had for lunch three days ago we're probably fine

i ask because there's some margin for just poofing back to from whence you came, and if i disappear then someone would need to look after the dog. i don't think anyone else likes me enough. you could at least make sure someone else gets it.

oh god, no. i can smell things that are present more intensely and hear you talking from farther away than normal. jesus, i can't even picture trying to live with those kind of senses.

[ she's kind of honored that she's being asked, since it involves a lot of trust in someone. but it makes her incredibly sad to read the words. she's noticed people getting sent back home, too, and she knows he doesn't get to go back to a long, happy life if he ends up getting sent home. ]

yeah me neither. think there was this ben affleck movie about it, but the dumb outfit was so distracting i didn't really think about the existential dread of that situation.

i don't know. i don't actually know anything about dogs. or even where to start. an affectionate one, i guess.

i think most dogs are supposed to be affectionate. maybe not german shepherds, but the ones i was familiar with were trained to be aggressive.

yanking would require more ferocity than i can generally muster. so just tugging is perfectly fine with me.

german shepherds are supposed to be smart, i think. i need something dumb and quick to forgive.
