[ It feels a little like dΓ©jΓ vu, meeting Max for food again, like their first meeting in person. A lot has happened since then, a lot of bad things, but he's glad Max seems to be on the path to forgiveness with him.
Truth be told, Lucas could do with the company today. The city sending out a picture of Nile's infectious smile reminded him how he missed her since she was sent home recently.
Sat at an outside table of the cafe, she should spot him when she comes to meet him, looking a little dejected. He does perk up upon noticing Max, though. Standing up to greet her, he feels an urge to hug her, so he does, but it lasts longer than a typical hug when greeting someone. It's like Lucas is hugging her because he needs to be held. ]

( so, after the carnival, he was maybe a void of noncommunication for a few days. not actively comatose like last time, just in a pit of his own misery, too deep to climb out of and be social until the worst of it cleared off. and okay maybe he was close to coma status after drinking himself into a blackout, but shh.
